Mari Webb [Queensland, Australia]
Mari’s room has more bookcases in it than other furniture. She shares her flat with a cockatiel named Frida, after Frida Kahlo the artist, not the Frida from Abba. Mari works as legal researcher, mainly to pay for her book and scribble habits. She writes formal, and free verse when the spirit moves her. For Mari, poetry is a wonderful form because it paints pictures that move. Of course, painting is static poetry, but she’s yet to try that….
Melissa Milich [Yarra Valley, Victoria, Australia]
Melissa is currently studying for a Masters of Arts in writing. Her poetry has been published in various anthologies and she has three poems published with Bukker Tillbul – Swinburne online literary journal. she is co-editor of online poetry journal – Malleable Jangle. Melissa is also an artist who has an upcoming exhibition in February 2005 at the Warburton Arts Centre, Victoria, Australia. Recently performed at the Overload Poetry Festival in Melbourne.
Jamie McTainsh [Warburton, Victoria, Australia]
Is a writer who writes poetry, short stories, children's literature, and when he's not doing this he is writing or performing comedy. Jamie is a proficient tuban throat singer who is interested in politics and turning his house into an opshop.
Richard Hillman [Tasmania, Australia]
Richard has completed a PhD in Australian Studies at the Flinders University of South Australia. He is currently Director of The SideWaLK Poets Collective Inc. Richard is the Poetry Editor for Thylazine: Australian Arts and Literature on Landscape and Animals and oversees The Thylazine Foundation's Australian Poets for Peace Project. He is also a contributing editor for papertiger, an international CD-ROM poetry journal. Richard's career as a writer has included radio talkback shows live internet performances, and readings at many of Australia's most well known literary establishments. His poetry has been published widely throughout the world. His most recent collection is Jabiluka Honey (Bookends Press, 2003). Julie Tawse [Melbourne, Victoria, Australia]
Julie is a writer and musician who has been published and short-listed for her poetry and short stories. She recently came third in the Australian national songwriting competition. She is also on the editorial team of Worilla journal.
Robert Lane [Yarra Valley, Victoria, Australia]
Robert has a BA [English major], and Diploma of Education from Melbourne University, and a Graduate Diploma in Professional Writing from Latrobe University. He has been published in various publications such as Zygote in my Coffee He is currently finishing his novel: The Bittersweet Recollections of Wilco Crackling: Antipoet. He will soon endeavour to write a second called: A Mouth Full of Ulcers. Robert is a frequent reader at poetry venues and a workshop facilitator and educator. Robert has played trumpet like a staccato harlot on mushrooms for bands such as: Rah Rah the Flag, Love Stinks, Pigs in Serious Shit, Big Bullets on Wheels, The Vacuum Safari Suits, The Horns of Doom, Gothic Farmyard, The Boxing Tostados, among others. He stared in films such as: The Brass Jungle and What Ever Happened to Robby Lane?. Robert was a founding member of the Dadaist punk movement Wank Art, yes it's true, his signature is there at the bottom of the manifesto. He is currently editor of the online poetry journal Malleable Jangle [Issue 1 will be online early December].
